La chirurgie maxillo-faciale et plastique pédiatrique est une spécialité à part.

En effet l’enfant n’est pas un adulte miniature mais un être à part dont le potentiel de croissance physique et psychologique est à prendre en compte pour chaque aspect de la prise en charge. Les lésions cutanées, malformations acquises ou congénitales, les séquelles de traumatisme ou cicatrices sont les champs d’action de la chirurgie maxillo-faciale pédiatrique.

Les pathologies prises en charge sont : les fentes labio-alvéolo-palatine et séquelles de fente, les angiomes et lésions tumorales de l’enfant. Les lésions dermatologiques type naevus géant ou fibrochondromes, les traumatismes plaies et fractures faciales de l’enfant.
